Yes on Measure P - Child Care Initiative

The Marin County Democratic Party proudly endorses Measure P to address our local child care emergency. Today, exorbitant child care costs are forcing parents out of the workforce, while early childhood educators struggle to afford to live in the county where they teach.

Measure P is a voter-led solution that generates $12.5 million annually to expand access to high-quality, affordable preschool and child care for low- and middle-income families in Marin County. Crucially, it provides dedicated funding to increase compensation and retain our essential early educators. 

High-quality early care gives children stable relationships with caring adults, opportunities to learn and play with other children, language-rich environments, and routines that help them grow and thrive.

Measure P ensures every dollar stays local. It features strict public accountability, including an independent community advisory council, annual public audits, and a strict 5% cap on administrative costs.
