June 2026 Primary Measures
Marin Democratic Party encourages your YES vote on Measure C!
Our local schools are among the best in California because we have exceptional teachers, challenging academic programs, and strong support from the community.
However, local funding our schools have relied upon since 1987 is set to expire unless voters approve Measure C.
Without Measure C, Kentfield School District will lose over $5 million annually - nearly 25% of its budget. KSD has already made budget adjustments, but there is no more nonessential spending to cut. If local parcel tax funding expires, extensive teacher and school staff layoffs, cuts to academic programs, and increases in class sizes will be required.
Voting YES on C renews local school funding to prevent deep budget cuts and continue funding to:
- Maintaining strong core programs
- Keep highly qualified teachers
- Prevent class size increases
Mandatory Local Control & Fiscal Accountability
- All Measure C funds go directly to our local schools and cannot be taken away by the state or federal government
- Independent oversight committee
- Senior citizen homeowner exemption continues
Even if you do not have school-age children, supporting quality education is a wise investment.
Good schools improve the quality of life in our community and protect the value of our homes.
