June 2026 Primary Measures
Vote YES on Measure H — Keep Ross Valley Schools Open
Ross Valley School District's public schools are among the highest performing in California — but that excellence is now at risk. Measure H is a renewal and increase of the district's local parcel tax, which has provided critical funding for 33 years and currently makes up 16% of the district's budget. Without it, RVSD faces a $5 million budget shortfall that would force the closure of two of our four elementary schools, devastating cuts to academic programs, teacher layoffs, and potential state takeover of the district.
Ross Valley schools receive the lowest per-pupil state funding in Marin County — ranking in the bottom 4% statewide in funding. The current parcel tax has not seen a meaningful increase since 2012, even as the cost of running our schools has outpaced inflation year after year. Measure H provides a renewal with a supplemental increase to close that gap.
Measure H funds are locally controlled — they cannot be taken by the state, and cannot be spent on administrative salaries or pensions. Exemptions remain available for senior citizens 65 and over, and those receiving SSI or SSDI.
Strong public schools benefit every member of our community, not just families with children in school. They strengthen neighborhoods and protect property values. Measure H is an investment in the kind of community we all want to live in.
Keep Our Schools Open. Protect Our Community. Vote YES on Measure H.
